You’ll be looting a lot of items in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Naturally, there will be times when your characters get over-encumbered, leading to a loss of mobility. Thankfully, there are a few ways to alleviate these issues. Here’s our guide on how to increase carry weight in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

How to manage inventory and increase carry weight Dragon’s Dogma 2

You can manage inventory and increase carry weight through a variety of methods:

  • Trading with companions and using the storage
  • Leveling up
  • Rings
  • Golden Trove Beetles
  • Augments

Trading items and using the storage

The simplest means of managing your inventory is by giving heavier items to your main pawn and support pawns. Simply open your inventory and click the “Sort” button to arrange items by weight. Then, choose the “Give” command and select a pawn that will keep the item temporarily. This should lessen the weight that your character is carrying.

Later, once you’ve found an inn, be sure to deposit items you won’t need immediately, such as crafting materials. It’s also a good idea to store fresh goods (i.e. meat and fruits), especially if you’re not going out on a long trek. Food items can turn stale or rotten over time, but keeping them in storage prevents this from occurring.

You’re going to recheck your inventory numerous times during the campaign.

Leveling up and encumbrance

At certain level intervals (i.e. levels 10 and 20), you’ll notice an increase to your carry weight. This is shown as “Max Enc +3.0,” which denotes the boost to encumbrance.

Gaining additional encumbrance is always a good thing.

Rings that increase carry weight

A few rings also increase encumbrance and carry weight in Dragon’s Dogma 2:

  • Ring of Accrual – Slightly increases the maximum weight that the wearer can carry.
  • Ring of Triumph – Slightly boosts maximum health, stamina, and the weight that the wearer can carry.
  • Ring of Profusion – Moderately increases the maximum weight that the wearer can carry.

Note that some of these accessories are obtained as rewards when you turn in Seeker’s Tokens. There are 240 of these coins, and you can hand them to Vocation Guild NPCs to improve your total tally.

A few rings can help you lug around stuff.

Golden Trove Beetles

There are plenty of Golden Trove Beetles in the game world. You should spot these glowing items on tree trunks and rock formations. Consuming one increases the maximum encumbrance for you and your main pawn by 0.15 kg.

Be on the lookout for these glowing critters.

Augments to help you carry loot

The Thew augment increases carry weight, and it can be unlocked once a Fighter has leveled up and gained enough discipline. Once you’ve obtained it, you may equip it even if you change your class/vocation.

In any case, this is how you increase encumbrance and carry weight in Dragon’s Dogma 2. There are so many items and materials to discover in the game, so make sure you’re able to bring them all to your storage. Lastly, if you’re just starting out, be sure to check our beginner’s guide.
