Since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion last year, people have wondered if games like Call of Duty would be coming to Game Pass. Microsoft still plans on having first-party Xbox games come to Game Pass on day one, which very well could mean games like Call of Duty

In an interview with Game File, head of Xbox Phil Spencer shared that it’s still Xbox’s plan to have first-party games appear on Game Pass day one.

“Our intent is the full portfolio of games from ZeniMax, Activision Blizzard, and XGS–Xbox Game Studios–will be on Game Pass, day one.”

Although Spencer’s response doesn’t give a clear answer on whether Call of Duty will appear on Game Pass, it reiterates what he’s said about games coming to the service on day one.

Further in the interview, Spencer explained that there’s still lots of behind-the-scenes work that needs to be done for Activision Blizzard games.

“We’re doing the back-end work to make them come to PC and console simultaneously.”

Despite not clearly saying when Call of Duty will be coming to Game Pass, it’s safe to assume that it’s not that far off based on the company’s recent behavior. Last week, Xbox announced that Diablo 4 would be coming to Game Pass five months after the acquisition was approved. So, Call of Duty coming to Game Pass may not be that far off.
