Dehya is a 5-star Pyro character added as part of Genshin Impact‘s version 3.5 update. While she’s been part of your journey for quite some time due to her appearances in various quests, you’ll now have a shot at getting her to join your roster. Of course, you might want to consider just what she brings to the table. Here’s our guide to help you with the best talents and team comps for Dehya in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact – Dehya’s talent priorities

Elemental Burst: Leonine Bite (top priority) – Becomes resistant to interruption and unable to use all other abilities; you may only do a flurry of punches, followed by a diving attack. All of these hits deal Pyro damage, and scale off her ATK and max HP stats. Lastly, Dehya will create another Molten Inferno (elemental skill aura) at the end of this sequence. This is considered the best talent priority for Dehya in Genshin Impact, as this is where most of her DPS will come from.

Elemental Skill: Molten Inferno (next priority) – Creates an area-of-effect aura, with a second charge that can be used afterward, causing a diving attack. Enemies that take damage within this field will trigger a coordinated Pyro AoE attack based on Dehya’s ATK and max HP (can occur once every 2.5 seconds). Additionally, other characters within the field become resistant to interruption, and a portion of the damage they take will instead be funneled onto Dehya, who’ll lose a bit of HP in their stead.

Normal Attack: Sandstorm Assault (ignore) – This just increases the damage of Dehya’s normal, charged, and plunging attacks.

Passives:

  • Unstinting Succor – After recasting the Molten Inferno aura, Dehya will take 60% less damage from the funneling/mitigation mechanic. Also, after casting her skill, all party members become even more resistant to interruption while they’re within the AoE field.
  • Stalwart and True – When Dehya’s HP is below 40%, she’ll recover 20% of her max HP and an additional 6% every two seconds for the next 10 seconds.
  • The Sunlit Way – +10% movement speed for all party members during the day (0600 to 1800); only works on the overworld map, not in domains/Spiral Abyss.

The first time you cast Dehya’s elemental skill, she’ll create an aura/field. If you cast it again, she’ll do a diving attack that refreshes the duration of the aura.

Dehya’s best team comps

When talking about the best team comps for Dehya in Genshin Impact, we’ll have to consider her role in your squad, as well as her overall kit. The thing is, Dehya is underwhelming: she doesn’t do a lot of DPS, and her HP-to-damage scaling is subpar. Worse, HP-focused characters, such as Zhongli and Kokomi, fulfill their respective niche roles more effectively, whereas it’s hard to pinpoint what Dehya should be. Regardless, if you do want to pull for her via her wish banner, then here are our suggestions:

Vaporize or Melt comps – These setups will require either a couple of Hydro characters (i.e., Mona, Xingqiu, Yelan, Ayato, or Kokomi), or a couple of Cryo characters (i.e., Ayaka, Ganyu, or Diona). The last slot can be an Anemo character for Swirls (i.e., Kazuha or Venti).

Mono Pyro comps – This team has Pyro support or sub-DPS characters for the most part (i.e., Bennett and Xiangling), as well as an Anemo (i.e., Kazuha or Venti).

Burgeon comps – Burgeon requires Dendro to react with Hydro, forming a bloom, which will then explode via a Pyro ability. Your ideal pick for a Dendro character should be Nahida (if you have her) or the Dendro Traveler (as the next best option). For Hydro, Xingqiu is the top option due to his sub/off-field DPS capabilities. The last slot can be Bennett for the extra damage buff and healing.

Even in her trials, Dehya’s Constellation 0 (C0) performance is subpar compared to other 5-star options.
