With Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth releasing later this week, many people are playing or replaying Final Fantasy 7 Remake to get ready for the new entry’s release. Players have noticed that Remake has been patched with a few changes before Rebirth’s release, specifically altering a character’s outfit, and modifying another character’s ending dialogue.

Players first noticed the change in Tifa’s cowgirl outfit in the Remake with an 11GB patch for Steam. Below, you can find an explicit side-by-side comparison of Tifa’s outfit change before and after the most recent patch from Twitter/X user @tifabro. Tifa’s cowgirl outfit in the scene adds a black undershirt that had not been there previously. The upset user had some choice (and explicit) words on the matter.

This was the first change players had discovered, but the discovery did not end there, with Remake’s ending having been changed, as well. In Remake’s ending, Aerith says the line, “I miss it. The steel sky.” Which is now changed to, “This sky… I don’t like it.” Below, you can find the side-by-side comparison of the ending change from Twitter/X user @Mgata_official. Players have also said that the change is not just to the subtitles of the scene, but the voice acting has been changed to better reflect the ending’s new alteration.

It seems that Square Enix is trying to tweak one of the previous entries down to the last week before Rebirth’s release. The recent patch has caused mod crashes and other technical issues for players, as well.
