Pokemon Go Ultra Space Wonders: Blacephalon, Stakataka, Bonuses, And More

Pokemon Go‘s World of Wonders season is wrapping up in a few days, and it’s going out with a literal bang. The Ultra Space Wonders event is now underway, introducing the Fireworks Pokemon Blacephalon and two other Ultra Beasts to the game. On top of that, special Pokemon are appearing more frequently in the wild and as raid bosses, and the final part of this season’s Special Research story is now live.

To help you get up to speed, here’s everything you need to know about the Ultra Space Wonders event.

Event Schedule

The Ultra Space Wonders event begins May 23 at 10 AM local time and ends on May 28 at 8 PM local time.

New Ultra Beasts

Three new Ultra Beasts have arrived as part of the Ultra Space Wonders event: Blacephalon, Stakataka, and Naganadel.

Blacephalon and Stakataka are both appearing in five-star raids throughout the event, but each is exclusive to a specific hemisphere. Blacephalon is only available in the Western Hemisphere, while Stakataka is only appearing in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Naganadel, meanwhile, is the evolved form of Poipole, the Ultra Beast you encounter upon completing the first step of the World of Wonders Special Research story. To get Naganadel, you must first set Poipole as your buddy and then catch 20 dragon-type Pokemon. Once you’ve met that requirement, you can evolve the Ultra Beast using 200 Poipole Candy.

Wild Pokemon

In addition to the new Ultra Beasts, certain Pokemon are appearing more frequently during the Ultra Space Wonders event. Various poison types such as Croagunk, Trubbish, and Skrelp are spawning in the wild, as is the rare dragon Pokemon Dratini. On top of that, Shiny Mareanie is also available, marking your first chance to catch one in Pokemon Go.

You can find the following Pokemon in the wild during the event:

  • Koffing
  • Stunky

On top of the increased Pokemon spawns, a few bonuses are also available during the Ultra Space Wonders event. First, you’ll earn double XP for winning Ultra Beast raid battles, giving you an extra incentive to battle Blacephalon and Stakataka.

On top of that, new Field Research tasks will be available throughout the event. Complete these tasks to earn various rewards, including potential encounters with the following Pokemon:

  • Nidoran (F)
  • Nidoran (M)
  • Trubbish
  • Mareanie

Pokemon Go’s World of Wonders may be coming to an end, but there are still plenty of events on the horizon for the mobile game, including Pokemon Go Fest 2024. The multi-date celebration kicks off in June and finally introduces the legendary Pokemon Necrozma. Developer Niantic has also outlined Pokemon Go’s Community Day schedule for next season.
