The galaxy may be far, far away, but Star Wars Outlaws is not. Outlaws, the latest open-world game from Ubisoft, rolls out across a staggered schedule this week: an early access release date followed by a regular release date. Also it comes out on different times for different platforms. Dank farrik!
To play Star Wars Outlaws early, you need to purchase the gold or ultimate edition of the game. Both versions allow you to start Outlaws on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X up to three days before the release of the regular edition, which comes out on Aug. 30.
Here’s when Star Wars Outlaws releases in both early access and for real, and when you can play it in your time zone on your platform of choice.
Star Wars Outlaws Xbox, PS5 early access release time
As of Tuesday, Aug. 27, Star Wars Outlaws is officially available in early access to those who nabbed the gold or ultimate editions of the game.
Star Wars Outlaws standard edition release time and date
On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, Star Wars Outlaws releases at 12 a.m. local time on Friday, Aug. 30.
As it was with the early access release, the game has a more erratic launch schedule on Windows PC. The graphic above shows the exact times in various regions around the globe, or you can see our list below:
- 9 p.m. PDT on Aug. 29 for the west coast of North America
- 12 a.m. EDT for the east coast of North America
- 11 p.m. BST on Aug 29. on Aug. 26 for the U.K.
- 12 a.m. CEST for western Europe/Paris
- 11 p.m. JST on Aug 29. for Japan
What to expect from Star Wars Outlaws
Star Wars Outlaws largely comprises a mix of stealth missions, third-person shooting combat, and lengthy platforming segments, a formula clearly inspired by the Uncharted series. (Feel free to make your own Han Solo/Indiana Jones/Harrison Ford comparisons here.) Outlaws is also billed as a fully open-world, but, fair warning, is significantly more stealth-focused than more recent Ubisoft Map Games®. The Star Wars vibes, at least, are off the charts.
