Super Mario Party Jamboree Lets You Party Online With 20 Friends

During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo announced Super Mario Party Jamboree, a new installment in the Mario Party franchise which adds new minigames, boards, and a 20-player online experience.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is set on an island resort split which is split into five boards, three of which are new and two of which are returning from previous Mario Party games. Jamboree will offer over 110 minigames, which is the most for any Mario Party entry in the franchise’s history.

Jamboree also introduces a new Koopathlon online mode, where up to 20 players can meet to compete in special minigame challenges. Koopathlon challenges shown in the announcement trailer include a chase scene involving Bowser and a crane game where scores depend on how many coins are collected.

The five boards included in Super Mario Party Jamboree are as follows:

  • Rainbow Galleria, a massive shopping mall with escalators connecting two different levels
  • Roll ’em Raceway, where players can hop into a race car and zoom across the board
  • Goomba Lagoon, where an active volcano threatens to blow up a player’s strategy at any time
  • Mario’s Rainbow Castle, from the original Mario Party
  • Western Land, from Mario Party 2

Super Mario Party Jamboree launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on October 17.
