RUMOR: Red Dead Redemption 2 Story DLC is Coming Next Year

Now don’t panic, but there’s a chance that Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to soon be hit with the one thing we’ve all been hoping for – story DLC.

However, before we get into this one, this is far from the most convincing ‘leak’ we’ve heard, so take it with a heap of salt, as always.

According to a new rumour, next year will see the launch of a brand-new story DLC, and it’ll feature a mainstay of Rockstar’s games – aliens.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be too much meat to the claims, which come courtesy of Reddit and a throwaway account literally called “throwaway11113454.”

The poster claims to known a concept artist at Rockstar Games, and writes: “He is working on Red Dead Redemption 2 story DLC it’s in the middle of development right now and is slated for a release of Q1 2020.”

The OP claims the DLC is “alien-centered like people have rumored (this was hinted by the UFO Easter egg).”

It’s claimed you still play as Arthur Morgan.

Whether or not the leak is true remains to be seen, but without any evidence to back up the claims, this could just be another false rumour started on Reddit.

Earlier this year, GameByte did some research into the game getting story DLC, asking fans of the game if Rockstar should be focusing on additional story content instead of working onRed Dead Online.

In a poll we hosted for members of Facebook’s The Red Dead Redemption 2 Group, we asked if players would rather have had story DLC or RDO, and the response was overwhelmingly in favour of DLC.

At the time of writing the original article, 76.6% of voters said they’d have preferred additional DLC for RDR2 over Red Dead Online.

“Personally I’d prefer DLC but I like online too,” responded one of the voters. “Rockstar is a business and microtransactions generate more income. I don’t think RDO will be as popular as GTAO.”

Would you like to see story DLC for RDR2?
