Monster Hunter Rise has hit a new sales milestone, having now reached more than 12 million units sold worldwide.

While Monster Hunter Rise is coming up on its second anniversary, sales for the game are showing no signs of slowing down, as the official Twitter account for the game shared earlier today that the game has now sold 12 million copies worldwide. “Thank you all so much for your incredible support and passion, we know Kamura is in safe hands with you,” reads the tweet, paired with some very nice art of everyone’s favourite chef Yomogi.

Back in October, Capcom reported the game had hit 11 million sales, making this a solid increase of a million in just three months, an impressive feat for a series that’s not typically new-player friendly. Capcom has largely attributed this to the consistent free updates that have been released for the game, as well as the Sunbreak expansion that has also had a number of free updates.

The third Sunbreak update arrived in November, adding in a big selection of new monsters to hunt, as well as some new variants of some familiar ones. It also expanded the follower system so you can bring them on more quests.

Update four is due to arrive next week, February 7, once again promising new monsters, layered armor, and more event quests. The most notable monster it’s adding is Velkhana, the main monster found in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

Monster Hunter Rise also recently released on Xbox for the first time, joining the ever-popular Game Pass, making it easier than ever to try it out for yourself to see what all the fuss is about.
