Alternate History Shooter Atomic Heart Has Gone Gold

Atomic Heart developer Mundfish has announced that the game has gone gold, ahead of its February 21 release date.

On Twitter, the official Mundfish account stated that the game has gone gold. Afterwards, the tweet thanked developing and publishing partners and the game’s audience. It read, “Thanks to our partners and everyone who is involved in this exciting project! And, first of all, thank you all for staying with us and supporting Atomic Heart.” Atomic Heart was set to release sometime in fall of last year, but was delayed to its current February date.

Atomic Heart is a Bioshock-esque shooter about an alternate-universe Soviet Union, where the country developed robot workers and a prototype internet by 1955. It features a soundtrack from Doom composer Mick Gordon. Players will take the role of Major Necheav, aka Agent P3, a Soviet special agent sent to investigate an incident at one of the USSR’s research facilities. Players will use special powers and a variety of guns and melee weapons to fight through a decaying utopia.

Atomic Heart will release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC on February 21, 2023. It will also be available on Game Pass the same day.
